Serving Communities in Preble and Montgomery counties
Senior Home Repair Program seeking donations
Because of the overwhelming need for support, representatives of The Senior Home Repair Program, an initiative of the Home Is The (HIT) Foundation in Preble County, are reaching out to the public to request additional donations and support.
The mission and purpose of the program is to provide and oversee home repairs for the senior population in Preble County through volunteerism and community donations with the ultimate goal of retaining individuals comfortably and safely in their current residence.
Through the program, seniors in Preble County will be able to receive home repairs including, but not limited to: roof repairs, handicap accessible ramps, water heater or furnace repair or replacement, leaking plumbing, unstable flooring, installation of accessibility items such as rails and grab bars, and small electrical jobs.
Santa Claus made his traditional visit to Eaton on Friday, Nov. 29, for the annual White Christmas celebration. This year’s event marked the 25th anniversary of the event, which includes the Eaton Area Community Chorus, Eaton High School Marching Band and the 2nd grade chorus. The event is held in downtown Eaton and it hosted by Downtown Eaton, Inc. Santa was escorted into the downtown on this fire engine along with members of Eaton City Council and the Preble County Commissioners. This year’s bike winners were Malachi Edmonds and Ali Schmidt.
