Annual Juried Photography Exhibit
The Preble County Art Association is hosting their Annual Juried Photography Exhibit this year titled “Photography as Art.” Richard Jurus, this year’s juror, will be looking for ametuer and professional work that tells a story by using technical attributes that enhances the narrative. Due to space, not all entries will be accepted. Jurus will be choosing the exhibit and awarding prizes including a Best of Show award for professionals worth $100 and a Promising Artist Award for amateurs worth $75.
“Many people have asked us what is meant by ‘art’ and what the difference is from other photography. Anyone with a camera can take a picture, but a photographer working as an artist will create a photograph that is sensitive to design elements, technical aspects and is able to communicate an idea with the audience,” says Vicky Fanberg, Executive Director of the PCAA.
Entries are being take on October 2nd and 3rd at the Visual Art Center located at 601 Hillcrest Dr. in Eaton. The exhibit is open to amateur and professionals who pay an entry fee of $12 per entry or 5 entries for $50. Discounts are given to PCAA members. Entry forms can be downloaded at www.takepartinart.net. Questions can be directed to email@example.com or by calling 937-456-3999.
